Free accounts and paid subscriptions differ in more than just price. First consider whether you can tolerate ads, need to choose specific songs to play, or need to listen offline. Do not assume that the free mobile app only supports shuffle or has the same limitations on every device. Check the actual features available for your device, app version, and region.
Spotify’s official guidance describes Premium features such as ad-free music listening and choosing songs to play. Do not interpret “ad-free” to mean that ads are removed from every podcast or external content. Basic vs. Individual: What do you get for an extra 3,300 won per month?
The difference between the two plans is 3,300 won per month. Basic offers ad-free music streaming and the ability to choose songs to play, but does not include downloading music for offline listening. Lossless audio is also not included with Basic. Even with Individual, Student, or Duo, actual lossless listening depends on the supported device, app version, audio source, and connection. Eligibility and renewal terms for getting a student discount
The Student plan requires you to meet eligibility criteria, such as being at least 18 years old and enrolled at an approved higher education institution. A school email address alone does not qualify everyone; SheerID verifies student status and the educational institution. The student discount can be maintained for up to four years, with eligibility renewed annually. Check the notice about verification expiry and the next price shown on your account. The help page says that failure to renew may result in a switch to the regular price, but the student subscription clause in the Korean paid subscription terms also describes a requirement to explicitly consent to continuing at the regular paid subscription price. Therefore, rather than assume that “you will automatically be charged immediately after graduation,” check the expiration date, consent, and pricing terms shown in your account. Does Duo share one account? Check the same-address requirement first
Duo is not a setup where two people take turns using one account; each person manages music and playlists with a separate account. If you assume that the two people split the total monthly price exactly in half, the equivalent monthly cost per person is 8,992.5 won, or about 8,993 won when rounded. This does not mean Spotify charges each person that amount separately.
You must meet the same-address and household eligibility and address verification requirements; this is not presented as a way to find strangers online and split the cost. Free trials and discounts, recurring billing, and post-cancellation access are different
The current public page in Korea offers a one-month free trial for eligible Individual subscribers and a one-month trial for 100 won when paying with an e-wallet. There is also a Student trial offer for eligible users, but restrictions apply, including based on previous Premium trial history. A trial is not an offer for recurring free access on every account. - Continuing after a trial: Section 4.3 of the Korean paid subscription terms describes explicit consent within 30 days before the trial ends and subsequent billing. Do not assume how every account renews based solely on whether a payment method is registered.
- Cancelling during a 0-won free trial: The official refund guidance states that you may immediately revert to a free account. Do not claim that “cancelling still always preserves Premium until the last day of the trial.”
- A trial with a charge: The terms treat this differently from a free trial and state that, unless the cancellation process says otherwise, the account switches to Free when the trial period ends.
- An existing paid subscription: The standard guidance in the official help page is that Premium remains active until the next billing date, after which the account switches to Free. Cancelling a subscription and receiving a refund are separate matters.

Check whether Basic is included in a membership you already use
Naver Plus’s current official information includes Spotify Premium Basic as a digital content option selected each month. You need to distinguish whether you have already selected other content, whether this is an additional purchase, and how much the membership itself costs. A direct Spotify subscription and GamsGo are not the same contract
Even if the app used to play music is the same, who sells and bills for the product and handles problems may differ. Spotify’s paid subscription terms explain that purchases through a third party are also subject to the terms of the transaction with that third party. This clause does not mean that Spotify recognizes a specific external seller as an official partner.

On 2026-10-18, the public purchase selection area showed “Standalone account (podcasts included),” “Top up my account (podcasts not included),” and “Top up my account (podcasts included).” The table below uses other terms, such as slots, so do not assume that every option in the table is currently available to order. The name “top up my account” alone does not confirm eligibility for a Korean account, the exact activation method, retention of all records, or compliance with the original service’s terms. Check podcast and audiobook access, renewal, and device conditions separately. This article did not test activation or purchase using an actual Korean account.

When comparing 12 months, do not place the price for one month directly alongside a prepaid annual amount. The following is a calculation example assuming the current official monthly price remains unchanged for 12 months, with no trial, price changes, or additional costs. It does not mean that an annual plan is being sold or that a one-year price is guaranteed.

For products priced in foreign currency, the calculation can be expressed as the amount actually due after applying the code × the applicable exchange rate + charges billed separately in won. Do not add fees again if they are already included in the foreign-currency amount. Do not add tax again to a tax-inclusive price. Do not conclude that two contracts are equivalent based only on the difference in price. Compare costs only after aligning music downloads and podcasts, whether it uses your own account, prepaid term, automatic renewal, and support and refund terms if access is interrupted.
GamsGo discount code BWBK5: One case actually checked
Checked on 2026-10-18 KST: On GamsGo’s public product selection screen, I entered BWBK5 with “Spotify standalone account (podcasts included), 12 months, KRW display, GamsCare+ protection not applied” selected. The subtotal of 50,701 won showed a code discount of 1,521 won, changing the total to 49,180 won. This is an observation on the selection screen, not a final payment or purchase completed after logging in, nor confirmation of successful activation.
Automatic renewal was ON on that screen, and the information stated that renewal would occur before the selected period expired. Comparison terms also change if protection options or renewal settings differ. The displayed monthly equivalent of 4,110 won also differed from the approximately 4,098 won obtained by dividing the total by 12, so this article records the observed total separately from the displayed monthly price.
Do not generalize this case into a fixed discount rate, current final price, or eligibility for Korean accounts across all products. Check again the message shown when entering the code, the total before and after applying it, exclusions, term and account conditions, and whether it can be combined with other coupons. Entering the code alone does not confirm a discount or payment. This price example is also not grounds for recommending a provided-account product or certifying compliance with the original service’s terms.

Where should I contact if access is interrupted? Cancellation and refunds require separate consideration
First, keep the order number, actual seller, product name, term and features, amounts before and after applying the code, and the time the problem occurred. Check whether the charge is directly from Spotify or the order is with an external seller, then use the inquiry channel for that contract.

Does Basic not allow downloads at all?
Music downloads are not supported, but the official help documentation separately allows podcast downloads. Music, podcasts, and lossless support should not be treated as a single item.
If I cancel a free trial, can I always use it for the remaining period?
No. The official guidance says that canceling a free trial priced at zero immediately switches the account to the free plan. Trials that incur a charge and standard paid subscriptions have different terms, so check the end date shown on the cancellation screen and the applicable terms.
Does entering BWBK5 guarantee the same discount and use with a Korean account?
